He has been involved with TRT since running the box office for Extremities. Since then he has appeared in the world premier of Off Book (Corgan Bryant), where he took on double duty as actor and playwright, She Stoops to Conquer (Marlowe/Tony Lumpkin), and Arms and the Man (Sergius Saranoff).
Along with acting, David has also been known to direct and write. Directing credits include The Nerd, The Real Inspector Hound, With A Free Cherry Popsicle, and The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged). In the spring of 2009, David directed two of the one-acts for TRT’s evening of original plays: Two Suits written by Drammy-award winning playwright Gretchen Icenogle, and Night Mary by Artistic Director John Duncan.
David’s writing credits include Off Book produced through TRT (then known as New Group Productions) in January of 2008; With A Free Cherry Popsicle produced through PCC Theatre Arts Club; The Thwappening, A Scrapbook Holiday and Meatloaf in the Moonlight produced through Gallixy Productions. In the spring of 2009, David wrote Bottled Youth as part of TRT's evening of one act plays, Parents and Children.
In the summer of 2008, Gallixy Productions presentation of Meatloaf in the Moonlight was accepted into The Riant Theatre’s Strawberry One-Act Festival in New York City, where it performed in the Off-Broadway Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre as one of the top four (out of thirty-six) shows of the festival. At the festival the show was nominated for Best Play and took home the awards for Best Actress and Best Director (David Gallic). In the summer of 2009, Meatloaf will be published in The Best of the Strawberry One-Act Festival 2008.
Most recently David directed The Meat Shall Inherit, a play that he also wrote (his third world premiere for TRT) in the fall of 2010. Even more recently David broke our hearts by moving to Los Angeles to persue a career in film and theatre. We wish him well and hope that he will come back to Portland to play with us. Oh, and we love him. |
