Mary checks to see that her father and boyfriend are gnawing on their sticks before leaving for a lunch meeting.

Mary (Tiffany Longworth) makes sure that her zombie father (JJ Hawkins) and zombie classmate (Peter Ash) don't need anything before leaving for her lunch date in "Night Mary," one of six one-acts performed during the show. Sadly, this is the only photograph from the show, which was full of moments of both high and low comedy and pathos.

PARENTS AND CHILDREN:
AN EVENING OF ONE-ACTS

For its second original production, in the spring of 2009, TRT invited some of its members and other local playwrights to write short plays (10-20 minutes supposedly), all with the same theme, the relationships between parents and children. We chose that theme because it was, and is, the one theme in the theatre with which almost every audience member can identify. We were very pleased to find ourselves going into rehearsal with six strong scripts and a cast of seventeen actors, often playing multiple parts. The plays varied in tone from the sense of tragic loss in Gretchen Icenogle's "Two Suits" to the Freaky Friday style sexual farce of "Bottle Youth." There is no way to summarize the stories or the effect that these plays had on the audience. One simply had to be there.
